If you are like the majority of people and generally walk around at least partially dehydrated and are looking for a way to ensure that you drink more water, do your really think that a water bottle is going to help?
There have been many fads over the years designed to make gullible individuals part with their hard-earned money in an effort to become healthier, and the 8UP Bottle, which claims to be able to help you drink the required amount of water per day is just another one in a long line of fads.
The team that designed this “simple yet functional†water bottle that contains no batteries or electronic components and works via a twistable glass counter as its base, hail from the US and Singapore.
The simple design incorporates the use of three rings on the container that divide it into three equal portions; measurements are in cups instead of millilitres or fluid ounces, and the base of the bottle contains a counter that counts to eight. The idea is that to update your daily record, just twist the base.
The marketing for the zero-tech water bottle claims that it is intuitive, fun, and simply satisfying, and that it will help make sure you are drinking the right amount of water every day. The bottles come in red, blue, green and black and are available for pre-order via Kickstarter at $25 apiece, with shipping is scheduled for June next year.
Really? I call nonsense! Forget all these fads, forget spending hundreds on bottled water every moth, and just drink water. Tap water in many regions is quite good enough to drink, including in the United Kingdom, but if you do not like the taste or smell of your local tap water this little bottle sure isn’t going to help any.
If you want to make sure that you are drinking sufficient water to remain fully hydrated on a daily basis, invest in a water cooler that can provide you with accessible, filtered, chilled, great-tasting water 24/7/365.
