Truth be told, while places like Brazil and Canada are two of those who have the freshest water in the world, Antarctica does not make the list at all as it is surrounded by sea water. One country that does make the list, however, is Russia. While news in Russia is limited to the rest of the world, we all know it snows in Russia, and a lot too. That is thus another reason as to why it has the freshest water in the world.
Brazil comes in first with 8233 Cu kilometres of renewable fresh water, followed far behind with Russia that has roughly 4507 Cu kilometres and finally, Canada with 2902 Cu kilometres.
The Importance of fresh water
Although any consumer-friendly water is considered important, fresh water is considered even more important as it is a finite natural resource that is used for humanity and all of the earth to survive. With that being said, there are currently many human activities that threaten the supply of clean water globally.
Many believe that fresh water is not appreciated enough and that is why it gets wasted so easily and often. Many think that there is an endless supply of water sources and that using more than is necessary will not affect the planet at all. Perhaps that is true for one human on one day, a few days, perhaps even a month but it’s never just one human and this is a fact we need to be wary of.
Water is the most important resource on the planet and one that, if not looked after, will be the end of humankind.
