Global warming is a phenomenon that affects the world every day and is not taken seriously enough by people or industries that contributing to it globally.
Although many animals are affected by it, the result of ice melting affects ecosystems and the overall biodiversity in Antarctica.
One of the animals that are at risk of becoming extinct is the polar bear. This is due to global warming causing ice to melt, which leaves the polar bears struggling to find their main source of food, seals.
The Polar Bears are Starving to Death
Nature is brutal and there are many reasons as to why animals die on a daily basis, but the melting of ice is one reason that definitely could’ve been prevented, and strategies implemented starting decades ago.
Unfortunately, industries that produce plastic, paper, glass and fossil fuels/ gasses all contribute to the climate change on earth and at the rapid pace of which it is affecting the world today, more should be done in order to prevent any bigger future losses of animals, plants, land, clean air and water that gets affected by pollution which contributes to global warming, as well as the sustainability of the life in general.
The Loss of Sea Ice
The melting of ice caused by increased temperatures from the sun. This is due to the ozone layer getting thinner and more heat penetrating to the earth surface. There are many bears that are left starving because thereof and although it hasn’t been studied quite as much, there is thought to be many more ice-bound animals that have died in Antarctica.
Even though Antarctica is hidden away and doesn’t grace the news much, it is detrimental that a cold shoulder is not given to this important cause. The very existence of ice-bound animals depends on it.
