The City of Cape Town has already started to implement various plans to deal with the possible effects that might be caused by storms and floods.
Organizations and City departments such as Stormwater and roads, as well as Disaster Risk Management has been working together to predict the possible damage that might occur due to floods. Housing organizations have also taken part, in case damage occurs to homes in the Western Cape.
These organizations and departments are working hard to prevent any damage to occur in 2018 as there did in the previous winter months of 2017. There is a big possibility of flooding in informal areas, which these Disaster Risk Management needs to be prepared for.

There are rehabilitative maintenance programs set in place for the preparation of winter to protect the city’s infrastructure.
