While that statistic might mind boggle you, it’s quite understandable as England is known as a city of where there is constant rainfall. In fact, before reading that statement, if someone had to ask you to guess which city receives the most rain in the world, it would probably have been London, England.
According to annual climate data, London has an average of about 22.976 inches of precipitation a year. Comparing it to New York’s 49.9 inches, that’s quite a big jump from being recognized as a city that receives the most rain in the world. London, in fact, ranks only at the number 15th rainiest city when compared to the rest of the world. Some cities in the U. S. even receive more than 50 inches of rain, making New York not even one of the rainiest in the U.S.

Kicking it off with the U.S., New Orleans, Louisiana has the most precipitation in the U.S., with an average of 62.7 inches annually. This city is followed by Miami, Alabama, Memphis, Jacksonville, and Orlando. The rainiest place in the U.S. however, is Kauai, Hawaii which receives a massive 460 inches of rain annually. Whoever thought that the islands of Hawaii would be the one place on earth with the most rain. Since it is a perfect holiday destination and well, considered to be paradise on earth, we’re not sure what the joke is but the Hawaiians are definitely thankful for all the rain.
While London only receives rain 106 days a year, this doesn’t make England seem to bad if Hawaii can handle even more and still be the ideal holiday destination for everybody.
