Naturally occurring fluoride is found in all natural waters, and the levels can be very high, especially in groundwater with certain types of rocks and minerals.
While there can be a lot of natural fluoride in water, the fluoride that is added to the drinking water that comes out of our taps is not even close to natural; it is a toxic industrial waste by-product called hydrofluorosilicic acid. This toxic substance is what governments have been adding to our drinking water for around a half of a century without telling us, and it is not healthy no matter what they say.
Hydrofluorosilicic acid is a toxic waste substance created from production by the fertiliser, steel, aluminium and nuclear industries. Much of the hydrofluorosilicic acid created by the phosphate mining & production industry, for instance, is created when the rock is strip-mined; the rock is broken up, placed in giant vats, and sulphuric acid is added to get rid of contaminants and extract the phosphate.
The contaminant that were released into the atmosphere from this process were creating air pollution and killing animal and plant life, so environmental regulations were instituted and the contaminants, like arsenic, lead, mercury, , silicofluoride etc. had to be captured to control the air pollution. The contaminants are removed from the chimneys (scrubbed off with the acid) and stored in “open-air cooling lakes.â€
So how does this end up in our drinking water?
“In regard to the use of fluorosilicic acid as a source of fluoride for fluoridation, this agency regards such use as an ideal environmental solution to a long-standing problem. By recovering byproduct fluorosilicic acid from fertilizer manufacturing, water and air pollution are minimized†stated Rebecca Hanmer – Former Deputy Assistant Administrator For Water, US Environmental Protection Agency
Are you happy drinking fluoridated water or allowing your loved ones to drink it? I most certainly am not! An easy and most effective method of getting the fluoride out of your drinking water is to invest in a water cooler with a really good filter such as the Living-Water range of water coolers fitted with their Triple Activated Carbon Filters.
Contact Living-Water for a free needs-assessment and introduction to their range of bottled and mains water coolers to suit every situation and every budget.
