- Constipation: When the body becomes dehydrated it will draw water from various areas in order to keep the major organs working. One of the primary areas it will draw from is the colon, making it difficult for waste to move through, resulting in constipation.
- Digestive Disorders: Dehydration makes it difficult to properly digest the food you eat, and a shortage of calcium and magnesium can result in your body becoming acidic leading to gastritis, acid reflux and ulcers.
- Fatigue: Water is the most vital source of energy for your body; when you do not drink sufficient water, the enzyme activity in your body slows down, resulting in fatigue and tiredness.
- Weight Gain: When the body is dehydrated, the cells are depleted of energy. This generally makes us think we need food and we tend to overeat as a result. Added to this, if we have no energy we will exercise less, which means we get obese rather quickly.
