What trade associations represent the water cooler industry?
There are three main trade bodies representing the UK cooler industry – On a national level, the BWCA (Bottled Water Cooler Association) and on a European level EBWA (European Bottles Watercooler Association) and the EIMBCA (European Independent Mains and Bottled Cooler Association).
All three of these Associations aim to encourage stringent methodology and processes when supplying water and water coolers – this covers everything from processes in the warehouse to how the water-coolers are cleaned and handled at the client premises.
Living-Water have chosen to join the EIMBCA because it aims to represent the independent bottled and mains water cooler suppliers as opposed to the global multinational companies who otherwise invariably set the agenda of these Associations. This is important as otherwise the industry becomes in danger of acting like a cartel and as a result the water cooler industry remains highly competitive requiring constant innovation.
